A New Generation — The Same Commitment, Elevated

In 2025, Chuck and Karla proudly passed the torch to their son, Billy Olesen, who now leads Pest Stop as President and Owner. Billy didn’t simply inherit a company — he grew up inside one, learning the trade from the ground up before carving out a distinguished path of his own. Billy’s career mirrors his family’s tradition of starting at the roots. He has served as a Route Manager at Mathis Exterminators and as a Training Manager at Sunrise Pest Management — roles that gave him firsthand understanding of field service, technician development, and the customer experience that defines a great pest control company. He knows what it means to be the person at the door, doing the work, earning the trust. 

But Billy brought something new to the family legacy: science.

Led by an Entomologist — Backed by Science

Billy Olesen is an Associate Certified Entomologist — a credential that sets Pest Stop apart from virtually every other local pest control company in the Pacific Northwest. Where others see bugs, Billy sees biology. Where others apply products, Billy applies knowledge.

In 2022, Billy was honored with the Entomological Society of America’s ACE Professionalism Award — one of the most respected recognitions in the entomology field. It reflects not just technical expertise, but the professional character and ethical standards that define how Billy approaches every aspect of this business.
Under Billy’s leadership, Pest Stop operates on the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) — a science-based approach that prioritizes targeted, justified treatments over blanket applications. Every service recommendation is grounded in pest biology, treatment thresholds, and the least impactful effective solution. This isn’t just policy. It’s how Billy was trained to think, and it’s the standard he holds his entire team to.

Shaping the Industry — Not Just Serving It

Billy’s influence extends well beyond Pest Stop’s service area. As the State Policy Affairs Representative (SPAR) for the Washington State Pest Management Association (WSPMA), he serves as a direct bridge between the pest control industry and state government — advocating for responsible, science-based pesticide policy on behalf of professionals and communities across Washington.

He is also a member of the Washington Commission on Integrated Pest Management and the Washington State Pollinator Health Task Force — two bodies that shape how pest control intersects with environmental stewardship, agriculture, and public health at the state level. Additionally, Billy serves on the Board of Washington Friends of Farms and Forest, and previously chaired the Kitsap County Noxious Weed Control Board.
