- Keep food and other starchy materials in sealed packages.
- If you feel that these bugs will attack your bookcase, apply diatomaceous earth in small amounts, which will bring down the moisture level.
- Use roach traps to eliminate silverfish. Find the canning jar, clean it thoroughly, and cover the outer portion using the tape. Place around the infected area in the house.
- Sprinkle some talcum powder along the baseboards and follow the roach track the following morning. Seal the cracks in the foundation once you determine their entry points.
- Try to eliminate the moisture by regularly dusting or mopping the house. Do clean the bathrooms and drainage toilets that has high moisture level and spray some insecticides.
- Use Naphthalene balls to keep them in your wardrobe to prevent these bugs from entering your premises and making holes in the clothes.
- Make sure to seal and repair the cracks, holes, and crevices inside or outside the house. Silverfish like to hide in those places. If the conditions are alarming, use sprays, dust, and baits.
- If the infestation has increased, use chemicals and pesticides to bring them under control.
- If you are staying in complex buildings, silverfish tend to hide in a crevice-rich environment. If you remove these conditions, silverfish won’t be able to survive for more days.
- Use dehumidifier.
